Loki Star Ke Huy Quan Hopes to Return to the MCU: 'Fingers Crossed!'

Summary

  • Ke Huy Quan dreams of O.B. having a bigger future in the MCU, hoping for more appearances.
  • O.B.’s surprising popularity with fans hints at a potential crossover to other MCU projects outside of
    Loki
, maybe even a future film.
  • After a successful comeback with his role in
    Everything Everywhere All at Once
, Ke Huy Quan is now exploring new opportunities in acting.

Oscar winner Ke Huy Quanhas some big hopes for Ouroboros, aka O.B., his scene-stealing character from the Marvel Studios Loki series on Disney+. In an interview with Collider, Quan discussed his experiences playing O.B., and hopes his place at the Time Variance Authority (T.V.A.) could lead to an appearance in another Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film or series. Looking back, Quan is still shocked that he is even a part of the MCU. He said:

“I could not believe when I got that call from Kevin Feige, when he invited me to join the MCU. I was so excited, and I couldn’t wait to play him.”

As for the future of his character, he hopes O.B.’s journey continues, with the actor hopeful that “we get to see more of him in either an MCU movie or, hopefully, more in the TVA.”

“In terms of Ouroboros, man, fingers crossed that we get to see more of him in either an MCU movie or, hopefully, more in the TVA,” he said. “It’s such a vast universe. We only get to see a little bit of the TVA, so hopefully we’ll get to see more of that. Also, Ouroboros has so much knowledge, so I would love to see more of him and more of his contributions to that universe.”

While a third season of Loki is still unconfirmed, O.B.’s presence in the TVA, and outside of the Sacred Timeline, means he (and even Tom Hiddleston’s Loki) could appear in other MCU projects. Considering the character’s surprising popularity with fans, a crossover to a future film or series isn’t out of the question. First introduced in the second season of Loki, O.B. initially seemed to be a character that existed only to explain the technical aspects of the timelines. As the season unfolded, however, O.B. became a central character, as his place in the creation of the TVA was revealed.

The Multiverse, The Oscars & the Ke Huy Quan Comeback

After starring in some of the 1980’s biggest films, including The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Quan essentially retired from acting in the 1990s, as roles became scarce. His performance in 2022’s Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All at Once not only revived his acting career, he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The role also gave him new opportunities, including Loki and Kung Fu Panda 4.
