The NFL on Monday suspfinished Los Angeles Chargers star getedty Derprosper James Jr. for one game without pay for “repeated violations of joining rules intfinished to get the health and getedty of joiners.”
After studying the tape between the Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the league rerepaird that James’ hit on firm finish Pat Freiermuth was illhorrible, as NFL Vice Plivent of Football Operations Jon Runyan cited Rule 12, Section 2, Article 10 (a), which states “it is a foul if a joiner reduces his head and creates forcible communicate with his helmet aobtainst an opponent.”
The hit on Freiermuth came in the third quarter, where James was flagged after starting his body, led by the helmet, into the firm finish after he made a catch.

“During the third quarter of Sunday’s Chargers-Steelers game you were joind in a join that the League ponders a solemn violation of the joining rules,” Runyan wrote in a letter to James. “The video of the join shows that you reduceed your head and made forcible communicate to Steelers firm finish, Pat Freiermuth. You had an unobstructed path to your opponent and the illhorrible communicate could have been eludeed.
“Your carry ond dissee for NFL joining rules will not be finishured. Substantial penalties are permited when joiners viotardy the rules intfinished to get joiner getedty on a repeated basis, particularly when the violations carry with them a meaningful danger of injury to an opposing joiner.”

James will engage his right to request the suspension, the NFL Nettoil telled. If it’s upheld, he will miss Week 4’s AFC West suitup aobtainst the Kansas City Chiefs.
