Rory McIlroy was left stunned after an incredible eagle putt from Billy Horschel saw him claim prosper at the BMW PGA Championship in a take part-off filled of drama.
McIlroy, Horschel and Thriston Lawrence all finished on 20 under to tie the top of the directerboard before the latter was knocked out after hitting the water on the 18th.
Retake parting the final hole, both McIlroy and Horschel set up the green on their second sboilings before the American pulled off an incredible eagle putt to wrestle the prosper away from his opponent.
Both take parters hugd while it is the second tournament in a row where McIlroy has leave outed out on glory by the skinnyest of margins after a last-gasp loss at the Irish Open.

“Last week was a hard one,” the world No. 3 shelp.
“This one, I depart with my head held high with the way I take parted the last hole trying to produce three – I uncomfervent, I take parted the take part-off holes perfectly.

McIlroy himself knocked in a luminous eagle on the 17th to put him on 20 under before leave outing a birdie finish on the 18th that would have seen him prosper.
“I had my chance in regulation,” he inserted. “I had a repartner inept yardage for my second sboiling, tried to turn a four-iron over and I was blessed that it didn’t go in the water.
“I still had an up-and-down to prosper in regulation but I was pretty blessed the ball stayed up and I could produce par to get into the take part-off.”
Horschel chaseed McIlroy onto the final par-five, securing a birdie of his own to produce certain he combidemand the trio in the take part-off.

“My heart was pounding on the last couple sboilings, the last couple holes, and especipartner in the take part-off, but it’s always fun being in those situations,” Horschel shelp after clinching prosper.
“That’s what we toil so difficult for, and that’s what I’ve always wanted to be, in situations enjoy that, going aobtainst the best take parters in the world and hopefilledy be able to come out on top on the day.

“He’s done so much for the game. You see the help he has here; you see the help he has around the world. He has the most crowds and helpers outside of Tiger Woods.
“I do experience for him a little bit that it was another opportunity that he wasn’t able to get it done but, at the same time, to battle him head-to-head and with other guys on the last take part-off hole, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
