These 3 Cast Members Could Make The Traitors Season 3 the Best Yet

These 3 Cast Members Could Make The Traitors Season 3 the Best Yet

The first two seasons of reality competition seriesThe Traitors, based on the Dutch series De Verraders and inspired by the party game Mafia, were a huge hit. Led by brilliant host Alan Cumming, the show started with a mix of unknown players and other reality show personalities. But it appears to be all well-known figures for Season 3.

Among them are three individuals in particular who could make for a particularly intriguing, cut-throat season. They come from two popular shows where conniving, backstabbing, and betrayal are the name of the game. If their performances on other reality shows are any indication, this trio has proven themselves savvy enough to take the win in The Traitors, or at least shake things up and take the game to new heights.

The three cast members who could make the upcoming season of The Traitors the best yet are all strong players with strong personalities, leaders that would make perfect traitors but also especially perceptive faithfuls. They’re master manipulators, skilled at social games, forging partnerships with unlikely allies, getting information, and steering the ship. If others are familiar with their resumes, they’ll instantly be pegged as threats.

“Boston” Rob Mariano Is a Survivor Legend

Rob Mariano, known by his fans as “Boston Rob,” first appeared on Survivor: Marquesas where he was the seventh person voted out. As a fan favorite, however, he returned for Survivor: All-Stars where he was runner-up to his showmance partner and now wife, Amber Brkich. The pair were an unstoppable duo, and Mariano was the more vocal one who orchestrated the strategic moves that protected them both. However, a bitter jury opted to vote for Brkich as the winner instead.

Mariano returned for a third time to try his luck at winning on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains where he finished in 13th place. Sandra Diaz-Twine, who appeared on Season 2 of The Traitors and made it all the way to the finals, became Survivor’s first-ever two-time winner. On Heroes vs. Villains, Mariano was again considered a big threat and was voted out eighth. He finally got redemption, however, fittingly on the season titled Survivor: Redemption Island which Mariano finally won.

Mariano is known for his friendly though at times commanding personality. On Survivor, he often butted heads with others who didn’t like that he acted as though he was running things. He would sometimes even use scare and intimidation tactics to make others believe they needed to comply with him, or else. Yet Mariano also got along with others, worked hard for the tribe, and performed well in competitions.

As a well-rounded player, it would be surprising if Mariano wasn’t tagged as a traitor, or at least later recruited as one. Even if he isn’t, chances are most players, at least those who are familiar with his track record, will think he is. However, with other reality show stars who have similar reputations also competing this season, Mariano might be able to fly under the radar.

Tony Vlachos Is a Two-Time Winner of Survivor

Another Survivor alum with a lengthy resume, Tony Vlachos, won the first season in which he played, Survivor: Cagayan, then came back to win Survivor: Winners at War (where he played with Mariano) again, making him the show’s second-only two-time winner and the one with the highest pay-out. His third appearance on Survivor: Game Changers saw an early departure as Vlachos was sent home second before he could mastermind any blindsides.

Indeed, that is one of Vlachos’ strengths: sussing out situations and then convincing the tribe to send home the person who is the biggest threat to his personal game. He formed a tight bond with Sarah Lacina, which they called Cops R Us (since both work as police officers in their day jobs), and it got them far in the game. Vlachos showed his loyalty, never faltering from that partnership. But he did orchestrate the blindside of Sophie Clarke when he noticed that she and Sarah were getting too close for comfort, proving that he isn’t afraid to do what needs to be done.

Survivor: The 15 Best Winners, Ranked

Running for well over 40 seasons, there are ample iconic winners that defined the premier social strategy of Survivor. Here are the best of the best.

Also known for popularizing the strategy of hiding in a tree, dubbed a Spy Nest, Vlachos recognizes the importance of having not only strong allies but also as much information as possible. The more he could secretly find out what the others were saying, the better off he was. With a strong social game and a likable and funny personality, the only thing that could get in the way of Vlachos’ success is his propensity for paranoia. With a show like The Traitors where it’s already confirmed that there are traitors among players, it could be disastrously entertaining to see Vlachos try and navigate that, especially if he’s a faithful.

Nonetheless, Vlachos’ impressive track record and frantic energy will liven up the house. Survivor host Jeff Probst named Vlachos one of the best Survivor winners of all time for Parade. Probst says he has “never seen anyone play with that much energy and juggle that many balls at once and pull it all off.”

Danielle Reyes Is One of the Best to Never Win Big Brother

Long considered to be one of the best to play the game of Big Brother, Danielle Reyes is also among the players who deserved to win but didn’t. She played way back in the third season of the show. She forged a strong alliance with Jason Guy, the person no one in the house would suspect she would be aligned with, and quietly orchestrated moves from the shadows. No one ever saw her as a threat, but her Diary Room interviews proved that Reyes was doing far more than anyone realized.

Ironically, it was these candid Diary Room sessions that led to Reyes’ loss. Jury members watched the episodes after being evicted, and it resulted in them casting their votes for Lisa Donahue to win instead, bitter about how Reyes had played them and the arrogant way she spoke about it. It was the unfairness of this reality, in fact, that led Big Brother to change the rules and sequester the jury until the finale, so they couldn’t watch the aired episodes until after the vote. The game has followed this structure ever since.

With Big Brother alum, Britney Haynes, also cast for the third season of The Traitors, who played with Reyes on Big Brother: Reindeer Games, Reyes could have an instant ally. Neither are particularly good at physical competitions, but they are likable, have a biting sense of humor, and are likely to get along well with others. Reyes could be a dangerous, fly-under-the-radar player like Cirie Fields from season one.

Who Else Is in The Traitors Season 3 Cast?

The third season of The Traitors is shaping up to be exciting overall, with plenty of other personalities joining these three players.

As with previous seasons, there are several players from guilty pleasure shows within The Real Housewives franchise. If the season follows seasons 1 and 2, these players may align with one another, forming an instantly strong bond. This includes Dorinda Medley (The Real Housewives of New York City), Chanel Ayan (The Real Housewives of Dubai), Dolores Catania (The Real Housewives of New Jersey), and Robyn Dixon (The Real Housewives of Potomac).

Mariano and Vlachos will be joined by other Survivor alums, including Jeremy Collins (Survivor: San Juan del Sur) and Carolyn Wiger (Survivor 44); while Haynes will be the only other Big Brother star. Other reality show stars appearing on the season include Bob the Drag Queen (RuPaul’s Drag Race8), who is considered to be among the best winners ever on the show, Wells Adams (The Bachelorette 12), Gabby Windey (The Bachelor 26), Tom Sandoval (Vanderpump Rules), Chrishell Stause (Selling Sunset), and Ciara Miller (Summer House).

Rounding out the cast are Dylan Efron, brother of actor Zac Efron who appeared in his docuseries Down to Earth with Zac Efron; Bob Harper, former trainer from the series The Biggest Loser; model and Britney Spear’s ex-husband (who appeared in her music video for the song “Slumber Party”) Sam Asghari; WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia; and British Royal Lord Ivar Mountbatten.

10 Reality TV Shows We Love to Hate

Whether you have it on in the background, or you’re in the middle of a marathon, these reality shows are so bad they’re good.

Potential Conflicts This Season

Like the previous two seasons, the cast of Season 3 is made up of eclectic personalities from all walks of life who are no strangers to conflict. With Bob the Drag Queen being included, there’s potential to redeem what happened with Peppermint getting voted out so soon (and some feel unjustly) in Season 2. Both Sandoval and Medley are reactive and argumentative, which could also make things interesting.

Viewers will have their ears peeled to hear what Asghari might have to say about Spears, or if he avoids the topic altogether. Meanwhile, Mountbatten might sound like the least controversial of the bunch, but he is the former director of SCL Group, the parent company of Cambridge Analytica. That company, which has since closed operations, was at the center of the big data scandal involving Facebook in 2018. Those familiar with the events of the case may have preconceived notions or at least questions for him.

Overall, most of the players have been dubbed “villains” on their respective shows and/or in their lives, from Sandoval who has been called a “worm with a mustache” to Asghari, who has taken a lot of heat in the public eye. From a game perspective, that also includes the three highlighted cast members who all made it far on other reality competition shows by clawing their way to the top.

The daggers will be out this season each time Alan Cumming drawls the word “murder.” Viewers will be biting their nails in anticipation of finding out not only who the victim is each time but which skilled and cunning traitors orchestrated it, and which faithfuls are hot on their tails.

The third season premiere date of The Traitors has not been announced yet, but the season will come out sometime in 2025. For now, stream seasons 1 and 2 of The Traitors on Peacock.
